Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 11 October 2026

The short version

  • If you live in the EU, EEA or UK, you have a legal 14-day right to cancel. Everyone else gets the same 14 days from us. Tell us through our cancellation function or the returns portal, and send the item back through the returns portal.
  • We ship duties-paid (DDP) to the EU, USA, Norway and the UK. For all other countries you pay duties and taxes on delivery (DAP).
  • Exchanges and store credit are only available through the returns portal. Fees and time limits depend on where you live. Everything is on Shipping & Returns.
  • You have 2 years to complain about faults.
  • We only take payment when your order ships.
  • Questions? Write to support@attode.com.

That's the summary. The full terms below are what apply.

1. Who we are

1.1 attode.com is run by ATTODE ApS (a Danish private limited company), company reg. no. (CVR) 42247804, P. Vejsgaardsvænget 51, 8550 Ryomgård, Denmark. Email: support@attode.com. We reply to all enquiries within 24 hours on business days.

1.2 Forty Percent is a brand of ATTODE ApS. These terms also apply to Forty Percent products bought on attode.com.

1.3 Please don't send returns to the address above. Use the return address the returns portal gives you. Our warehouse is operated by Muramura in Denmark.

2. When these terms apply

2.1 These terms apply to all orders on attode.com. We deliver to the countries listed on Shipping & Returns. If you live in Denmark, please shop on attode.dk.

2.2 These terms are written for you as a private customer. If you buy as a business, the consumer rights in sections 7 and 9 may not apply.

3. Ordering

3.1 How it works: add items to your cart, go to checkout, enter your details, and choose delivery and payment. Before you complete your order, you'll see the total price, including any taxes, duties and shipping we charge. You can correct mistakes until then. Completing your order means you agree to pay.

3.2 You'll receive an order confirmation by email straight away. The contract is formed when you receive it. The email includes a link to these terms and the cancellation form. Please keep it.

3.3 If an item is sold out or we can't deliver it for another reason, we'll tell you as soon as possible. You'll get a full refund for that item, or you won't be charged for it at all.

3.4 The contract is concluded in English. We keep a record of your order, and you can ask for a copy at any time.

4. Prices

4.1 Prices are shown in your local currency where available. Your bank may charge its own conversion fees.

4.2 In the EU, USA, Norway and the UK, the total at checkout includes the taxes and duties that apply to your order (see section 6). Shipping is shown separately before you pay.

4.3 If a price is obviously wrong and you should reasonably have noticed (e.g. €5 for a jacket), we may cancel the order and refund you in full. We'll tell you as soon as we find out.

5. Payment

5.1 You can pay with the payment methods shown at checkout. Available methods depend on your country.

5.2 We authorise the amount when you order and only take payment when we ship your order.

5.3 Pre-orders: we take payment when the item ships. The expected delivery time is shown on the product page.

5.4 Payments are processed by Shopify Payments and our payment partners. We never see or store your card details.

6. Delivery, duties and taxes

6.1 We ship from our warehouse in Denmark. Carriers, delivery times, shipping prices and free-shipping thresholds for each region are on Shipping & Returns and at checkout. Delivery times are estimates. Customs checks can add time outside the EU.

6.2 You'll receive tracking by email once your order ships. Your order may arrive in more than one parcel.

6.3 If your order hasn't arrived within the agreed time, or within 30 days of ordering, you can give us a reasonable extra period. If we still don't deliver, you can cancel and get a full refund.

6.4 Risk passes to you when you, or someone you've nominated, receive the parcel.

6.5 Duties and taxes: who pays what.

  • DDP (EU, USA, Norway, United Kingdom): Import duties and taxes are included in your order total at checkout. There's nothing more to pay when your parcel arrives.
  • DAP (all other countries): Your order is shipped without duties and taxes. You pay import VAT, customs duties and carrier fees to the carrier or customs authority on delivery. We don't set these amounts and can't predict them. Your local customs authority can tell you more.

The list of countries in each group, and any related charges, is on Shipping & Returns. The list may change over time. The terms that applied when you ordered apply to your order.

6.6 If a parcel comes back to us because you refused it, didn't collect it, or (in DAP countries) didn't pay duties and taxes, we treat it as a cancellation. We refund what you paid for the items, minus the actual cost of the return shipping and any duties or fees charged to us. If you live in the EU, EEA or UK, the deduction won't be more than the law allows.

7. Your right to cancel

7.1 EU, EEA (incl. Norway) and UK: You have a legal right to cancel your purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason. The 14 days start on the day you, or someone you've nominated, receive the item. If your order arrives in several parcels, they start on the day you receive the last one.

7.2 Everywhere else (e.g. USA, Switzerland): We give you the same 14 days on the same terms as a commitment from us, even where the law doesn't require it.

7.3 How to cancel:

You're on time if you send your message before the 14 days are up.

7.4 Send the item back within 14 days of telling us. Please send it back through our returns portal. There you get a return label and the correct return address. You pay the cost of returning it. If you use the label from the portal, the return fee for your region is deducted from your refund (see Shipping & Returns). If you live in the EU, EEA or UK, you may also send the item with another carrier, at your own cost and risk: tell us first (see 7.3), send it tracked to the return address from the portal (not to a parcel locker or post office), and mark the parcel with your order number. If you live anywhere else, returns must go through the returns portal.

7.5 We refund you within 14 days of receiving your notice of cancellation. The refund covers the item price and, for EU, EEA and UK customers, the standard delivery cost you paid. If you chose a more expensive delivery option, we only refund the standard cost. We may wait until we've received the item, or until you've shown that you've sent it. We refund to the payment method you used.

7.6 Duties and taxes on returns. In DDP countries, the duties and taxes in your order total are part of the price you paid, so we refund them together with the item price. If customs charge duties or taxes when your return enters Denmark, we pay them. In DAP countries, the duties and taxes you paid on delivery went to the carrier or customs authority, not to us, so we can't refund them. In some countries you can claim them back. Your carrier can tell you how.

7.7 You can try the item on as you would in a shop: size, fit and feel. If you've handled it more than that, or removed tags, it may be worth less. In that case we may deduct the loss in value from your refund. This doesn't remove your right to cancel. Please return the item in the packaging it came in and pack it carefully.

7.8 The right to cancel does not apply to underwear, socks and swimwear if the hygiene seal has been broken after you received the item.

8. Returns, exchanges and store credit: our own scheme

8.1 On top of the right to cancel, we offer exchanges and store credit. What's available, the fees and the time limits vary by region. They're set out on Shipping & Returns. Exchanges and store credit are only available through our returns portal. If that page and these terms differ, the option that's better for you applies.

8.2 For exchanges and store credit, items must be unused, with tags, and not exposed to perfume, make-up or smoke. These conditions only apply to these extra options. They never limit your rights under sections 7 and 9.

8.3 Send each order in its own parcel with its own return label, and it goes fastest. If you send two orders in the same parcel, we'll process both.

9. Faulty items

9.1 You can complain about faults that were present when you received the item for 2 years after delivery. This is your right under Danish law. If the law where you live gives you more, you keep that.

9.2 If a fault shows up within 1 year of delivery, we assume it was there from the start, unless that doesn't fit the type of item or fault.

9.3 Let us know within a reasonable time after you notice the fault. Within 2 months is always on time.

9.4 Report it in our claims portal or by email to support@attode.com, with photos if you can. Your claim counts from the moment you send it. We'll get back to you as soon as we can.

9.5 If the claim is justified, we'll repair or replace the item or refund you, as the law requires. We cover reasonable shipping costs.

9.6 Normal wear, damage from incorrect washing or care, and damage you've caused aren't faults. Raw denim can transfer dye and change colour as it's worn. That's how the material behaves, as described on the product page. It isn't a defect.

9.7 If we've sent the wrong item, we'll fix it and cover shipping both ways.

10. Gift cards, store credit and discount codes

10.1 Gift cards are valid for 24 months from issue. The expiry date is shown on the card.

10.2 Store credit from returns and exchanges can't be paid out. You choose store credit instead of a refund, and within the first 14 days you can always choose a refund instead. See the terms on Shipping & Returns.

10.3 You can have the remaining balance on a purchased gift card paid out while the gift card is valid, and for up to 1 year after it expires. If you ask for a payout while the gift card is still valid, we charge a fee of DKK 25. After expiry, the payout is free. Write to support@attode.com with the gift card code and we'll take care of the rest.

10.4 Discount codes can't be exchanged for cash, and one code can be used per order. If you return part of a discounted order, we refund what you actually paid for that item.

11. Our products

11.1 We work to make photos, colours and measurements accurate. Colours may still look slightly different on your screen. Sizes and fit are in the size guide on each product page.

12. If something unexpected happens

12.1 If something outside our control that we couldn't reasonably foresee stops us from delivering, such as war, natural disasters, strikes, pandemics or major carrier, customs or payment outages, we'll tell you as soon as possible. You can always choose to cancel and get your money back. This doesn't limit your legal rights.

13. Liability

13.1 We're liable under the general rules of Danish law. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer law where you live.

14. Our content

14.1 Text, photos, video, designs and trademarks on attode.com belong to ATTODE ApS or our partners. Please don't use them commercially without our written permission.

15. Personal data and cookies

15.1 How we handle your personal data: Privacy Policy. About cookies: Cookie Policy.

16. Complaints

16.1 If you're unhappy, please write to us first at support@attode.com. We'd rather sort it out with you than about you.

16.2 If you live in the EU, Norway or Iceland and we can't agree, the European Consumer Centre in your country (ECC-Net) can help for free with cross-border complaints. You can also complain to the Danish Consumer Complaints Board (Forbrugerklagenævnet) through Nævnenes Hus, Toldboden 2, 8800 Viborg, Denmark, www.forbrug.dk.

17. Governing law and courts

17.1 These terms and your purchase are governed by Danish law.

17.2 If you live outside Denmark, this choice of law doesn't take away the protection you have under the mandatory consumer laws of the country where you live. Where those rules give you more rights, you keep them.

17.3 You can bring a claim in the Danish courts or in the courts where you live. If we ever need to bring a claim against you, we'll do so in the courts of the country where you live.

18. Changes

18.1 We may update these terms. The version that applied when you placed your order is the one that applies to it.
